2007 NextGen Home Experience™ Themes:
Imagine having a master remote control for your entire house — a device that allowed you to do everything from close the shades to play your favorite song, all with just a touch, and all from anywhere in the house.
There’s no need to use your imagination when you can try it out first hand at the Next Gen "First to the Future" home.
The magic lies in touch screens throughout the home that place all the automated components of that home literally at the user’s fingertips. Turn the television into a revolving slide show of masterpieces from your favorite artist, tell the oven to cook for 10 more minutes, and keep an eye on everything from visitors at your front door to the forecasted weather for the upcoming week — no matter where you are in the home, you’re always in control.
Amazingly easy to install and configure, users are free to create customized programs that are triggered by an event. For example, when someone locks the front door, the software will tell all the lights in the home to turn off and the security system to turn on.
The software is Life|ware™ by Exceptional Innovation and it is used to showcase not only how today’s electronics and appliances have grown more intelligent, but how homeowners can integrate all of these features seamlessly within their home via a single network. In addition to the touch panels, users can access the system from a TV screen, PDA, Xbox 360, or a PC or laptop anywhere in the world. The goal: give homeowners access to what they want, when they want it, from a device of their choosing.
Other amazing finds in this home include faucets that turn on and off with a touch – great for messy kitchen tasks – and a programmable oven that does double duty as a refrigerator.
The Next Gen "First to the Future" home beckons visitors to come see, and touch, for themselves what a truly connected home is all about.
