KITCHEN AND BATH
With a home measuring less than a 1000 square feet, space is at a premium, which means the designers put a strong focus on organization and layout. Today’s trend toward the “great room” concept of flowing the kitchen, dining and living rooms together into one room is on display here.
Beginning in the kitchen, you’ll see the “furniture look” trend evident through flat panel cabinetry, whose dark wood and vertical grain stain is accented by the latest fixtures from Kohler® to create a tight, clean, dynamic first impression. Kohler tubs, toilets and faucetry are also on display in the home’s two bathrooms.
According to a recent AIA Home Design Trends Survey, 37% of architectural design firms surveyed around the nation reported an increase in demand for solid surface countertops, so anchoring the cabinetry in this kitchen are solid surface countertops featuring the latest offerings from DuPont’s Zodiaq® line designed to provide the look of natural stone that tops every buyer’s wish list without the risks of chipping, scratching and cracking.
And of course throughout the home you’ll find “green” items – ranging from paint with a built-in radiant barrier coating, ventilation fans 350 to 460 percent more energy efficient than the minimum ENERGY STAR® requirements, photovoltaic panels, a solar water heating system, tankless water heater, and a beautiful new roofing profile from DECRA® composed of upwards of 25 percent post-consumer recycled steel.
If it’s hot right now, you’ll find it at the NextGen “Industry Trends” Home Experience.
