NextGen "Ultimate Value" Home is a Must-See at the 2008 International Builders' Show in Orlando, FL

All around the country we’re experiencing a buyer’s market. This means two things, 1) homebuyers are demanding -- and receiving -- more home for their money; and 2) builders have begun offering more amenities to lure buyers.

In a marketplace bursting with options, however, how do both buyers and builders decide on the options worth choosing? What are some affordable offerings available right now that will set a home apart from the crowd?

These questions and more will be answered at this year’s NextGen Home, a demonstration home making its sixth appearance at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 13-16, 2008.

Constructed in the parking lot of the Orange County Convention Center by builder TownHomes, LLC, this fully-furnished 2,700 square-foot home will serve as a fully-interactive showcase where all show attendees are welcome to come see, touch and explore a wide array of options that will help them experience more home for less money.

Following the lead of previous NextGen Homes, this year’s "Ultimate Value” home will showcase the latest and greatest products and best practices available right now that can make a home stronger, greener, more efficient and more digitally connected than previously demonstrated in a NextGen Home at the International Builders’ Show.

In the wake of natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina and the recent Southern California wildfires, products and building techniques that provide new levels of protection from the elements will once again be a hot topic. This is the fifth year that the NextGen Home will be built in compliance with the Institute for Business & Home Safety’s (IBHS) Fortified...for safer living® program, a national program that provides guidance for increasing a new home’s resistance to all types of natural disasters.

The NextGen "Ultimate Value” Home will include features such as:
  • An exciting new line of impact-resistant windows and doors by MW Windows & Patio Doors that provide an affordable and esthetically pleasing way to protect a home against windborne debris - eliminating the need for storm panels or expensive roll-down shutter systems
  • A variety of beautiful solid surfaces by DuPont™ -- all Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certified, along with DuPont’s innovative residential StormRoom™ and efficient housewraps
  • Fingerprint resistant stainless steel cabinets by Lasertron (featured in the action movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) that were named Upgrade of the Year in Options Magazine
  • Life|ware software by Exceptional Innovation that lets you control everything from a home’s audio and video system, to the thermostat, security and lighting, all from a touch of a button anywhere in the home
  • Weather/All Hazards Radios from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) that provide homeowners with accurate first alerts day or night on everything from tornados and hurricanes to AMBER alerts and terrorist attacks
...and so much more -- from a touch controlled outdoor grill to a green decking product that can reduce installation costs by up to 50 percent.

Learn how to make your next home an "Ultimate Value” home by experiencing this year’s NextGen Home, located in Parking Lot D2 of the International Builders’ Show.
