The NextGen Accessible Home at Medtrade 2010, in Atlanta is a first of its kind national demonstration home dedicated to showcasing accessible home design and in-home healthcare solutions for industry professionals.

Over 54 million Americans of all ages have some form of permanent disability and millions more incur an unexpected disability that can last for months or years. Some 20% of American families are impacted. In addition the U.S. population trends are tilted toward an aging population, some 80 million Americans are 50 years of age or over. Maintaining good health and living in an age friendly environment enables older people to remain independent, stay socially engaged and enjoy a good quality of life.

The NextGen Medtrade Accessible Home is a real home located on the show floor which incorporates many universal design features to create a living environment that meets the needs of the entire family from the young to aging parents or those chronically ill requiring home care.
