The NextGen Eco Makeover Home Featured at the 2011 Kitchen & Bath Show

BELLEVUE WA, April 22, 2011---The NextGen Eco Makeover Home is the official home of the 2011 Kitchen & Bath Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas April 26-28, 2011 and will kick-off a national awareness campaign on benefits of energy retrofits and “the journey towards green opportunity” for the over 100 million existing homes in the United States.

“With new housing starts down 70% from their peak year, the greatest opportunity for industry professionals is the opportunity to upgrade existing homes with energy retrofits translating immediately into monthly savings,” said Paul Barnett CEO of iShow, producers of the NextGen Home Experience. “If just 20% of the existing homes had an energy audit and some simple modifications made, the contribution to reducing our dependence on imported oil would be substantial.”

Located on the KBIS show floor the NextGen Eco Makeover Home is a small footprint home that will be shown in its original state with a sampling of some of the upgrades to follow, turning an average home into an eco-home. Upgrades featuring products from companies such as Rinnai, Philips, Rohl and Delta Products are the first to be installed, with a continued deep retrofit to continue after the KBIS event.

In addition to the energy retrofits, the home will undergo a complete makeover utilizing green friendly products that will result in lower water usage, better internal air quality and a lower carbon footprint.

Industry pros and home owners will be able to follow the progress of the makeover online at www.nextgenhome.com in the coming months and the finished home will be revealed at a future major industry event.

“We also want to demonstrate that homes should be for the entire family, from young members to aging parents and so we plan to add simple, universal design modifications to make it work for everyone,” added Barnett.
